I JUST INSTALLED MY PERMA SALT SYSTEM AND THE CHAMBER LIGHT IS ON. WHAT SHOULD I DO

More than likely the level control is set too high. Turn down the level setting to “4” when installing a new chamber. The red light should turn off immediately. Later in the season it may be necessary for the level to be higher as the bars inside the chamber are depleting. Test the pool water weekly to ensure a copper residual of 0.3 – 0.5 ppm

WHAT IS THE NORMAL COPPER LEVEL THAT I SHOULD MAINTAIN?

The mineral (copper/silver) level should be maintained between 0.3 – 0.5 ppm. The mineral level can be increased or decreased by adjusting the level control up or down. It is recommended to make subtle adjustments.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET A COPPER READING ONCE THE PERMA SALT SYSTEM IS INSTALLED ON MY POOL?

Once the unit is installed and the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) level is above 1,000 ppm, it may take 2-3 days for the copper level to reach the ideal level.

WHERE SHOULD THE UNIT BE INSTALLED?  WHICH DIRECTION SHOULD IT FACE?

The Perma Salt System should be installed directly to the outlet of the filter tank using the fittings provided.  Keep in mind that the chamber will need to be replaced, so hard plumbing is not recommended.  Because there is not a flow switch in the Perma Salt System, it does not matter which direction the unit is facing.

MY POOL HAD ALGAE BEFORE I PURCHASED THE PERMA SALT SYSTEM.  WHEN WILL I START TO SEE THE POOL CLEAR UP?

Depending on how much algae was present in the pool, you may need to add chlorinated shock to assist in the process. How much shock is needed will depend on how severe the algae problem and the size of the pool. Because it is battling the algae, your copper level may not register a reading until the algae problem is gone.

THE LIGHTS ARE NOT COMING ON WHERE THE TEMPERATURE DISPLAY AND ACTIVE INDICATORS ARE LOCATED.

Ensure that the outlet is getting power. If the outlet has power, typically what has happened is the transformer on the power cord has been damaged, usually from a power surge. Replacing the power cord should fix the issue.
